Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Parts Person / Office Administrator to join our busy semi-truck mechanical and autobody shop. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the heavy-duty truck repair industry and a solid understanding of semi-truck parts and systems. This role is a hybrid position combining parts inventory management and general office administration duties.
Key Responsibilities: Parts Management:
- Order, receive, and manage inventory of semi-truck parts and shop supplies
- Source and negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing and availability
- Maintain accurate records of parts used in repairs and services
- Track core returns, warranties, and back-ordered parts
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely delivery of required parts
Office Administration:
- Answer phones, greet clients, and provide exceptional customer service
- Schedule appointments and manage repair job workflow
- Create work orders, invoices, and purchase orders
- Maintain filing systems for customer and vendor records
- Assist with payroll submissions, timesheets, and basic bookkeeping
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and documentation standards
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a truck repair shop or similar heavy-duty vehicle environment
- Strong knowledge of semi-truck parts, systems, and terminology (engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, etc.)
- Proficient with inventory management systems and basic accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Mitchell, or similar)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Valid driver's license (Class 5 minimum; Class 1 an asset)
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 60 per week
