Position: Medical Laboratory Technologist
Department: Laboratory
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge
- Registration with the College of Medical laboratory Technologist of Ontario (CMLTO) in areas of responsibility required
- Recent relevant experience within the last 3 years and ability to rotate through the core disciplines (Haematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank)
Skills/Abilities:
- Effective time management and strong organizational skills required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team required
- Ability to work in a fast paced high stress environment
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of client groups to ensure patient focussed care delivery
- Ability to be innovative combined with a willingness to learn new tasks required
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Good attendance and work record required
- Must demonstrate a commitment to ensure your safety, the of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
