About the role

The Operator Heavy Equipment role offers the opportunity for you to be responsible for the safe operation and daily maintenance of all heavy equipment at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

The roster will be 7 days on and 7 days off (12 hours) and is a residential role. Please note that this rotational schedule is subject to change seasonally. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.

Key result areas will include:

Ensure complete orientation, training and competence prior to operating any piece of equipment (loader, backhoe, tandem, grader, dozer, forklift, etc).

Ensure proper documentation has been completed and signed prior to operating.

Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Perform daily circle checks and routine maintenance on equipment.

Complete daily log sheets and report any deficiency.

Load / unload trucks and transfer materials and equipment to the site safely and timely.

Ensure equipment is clean, properly maintained and in top operating condition.

Maintain year-round yard and roads for safe use of others.

Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free.

Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.

Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

As the Operator Heavy Equipment, you will have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent). A valid G1 Class drivers license is essential for this role.

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

2 years of experience and demonstrated competence as an operator

Extensive skill and ability to safely and efficiently operate respective pieces of equipment (Grader, Front end loader, Forklift, Backhoe, Excavator)

Ability to identify the different between normal wear, unusual wear and damage to equipment

Excellent hand-eye coordination with strong mechanical aptitude

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions

Effective organizational and prioritization abilities and able to manage multiple priorities

Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere

Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants

Displays initiative, and works productively with limited supervision

Cooperative, flexible team player willing and capable of working on various work schedules.
