Heavy Equipment Operator

Wendell Farquhar is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Operator in Elliot Lake, Ontario. This is a full-time seasonal position available with competitive wages, as well as ongoing driver training and room for growth and advancement. Wage rates will be based on experience.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Safely operate heavy equipment, with knowledge of loading requirements
- Perform daily pre-ops and attend daily safety meetings.
- Complete daily inspections and reporting of production.
- Travel to job locations.
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
- Minimum 3 years experience operating heavy equipment.
- Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.
- Valid G Driver’s license.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Familiar with aspects of maintenance of equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in a noisy environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Basic computer skill and knowledge of industry technologies.
