Adamson Builders Inc services the construction needs of Adamson Systems Engineering. Ongoing projects include an expansion and renovation of the existing building, a 120,000 sq ft manufacturing facility on 38 acres of M2 Industrial land in beautiful Port Perry, Ontario. Adamson Builders will start constructing a second expansion to our manufacturing facility increasing our footprint to over 150,000 sq ft.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction crew. The successful candidate will have proven hands-on experience operating various heavy machinery—particularly bulldozers, skid steers, and road-laying equipment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced outdoor environment and is committed to safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, skid steers, and other construction vehicles and tools.
- Perform road-laying tasks including grading, excavation, compaction, and surface preparation.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes under the direction of site managers.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures as mandated by OHSA and company policies.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and crew to ensure efficient workflow and project timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Completion of high school.
- Minimum at least 5 years of experience in Construction or roadwork settings.
- Proficient in operating bulldozers, skid steers, and other related heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of working in varying weather and site conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred Assets:
- Certification in Heavy Equipment Operation from a recognized institution.
- First Aid and WHMIS certification.
- Experience in residential and infrastructure construction projects.
