Red Sealed Licensed Machinist

Summary

KingCast Inc., the newest division of the StressCrete Group, is a gravity die cast (permanent mold) supplier of high-quality aluminum and zinc products. We are seeking a Red Seal–licensed Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for precision machining, fabrication, setup, and assembly, operating both CNC and conventional machine tools to produce high-quality, precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery and the ability to operate a variety of machine tools to cut, grind, or modify metal parts to exact specifications. The machinist will inspect machined parts and tooling to ensure adherence to quality control standards and must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail while working within KingCast's high standards for quality, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to performed and plan best sequence operations.
• Must be able to draw and generate programs within CAD/CAM, Mastercam, etc., as well as make programs on CNC controllers on the shop floor.
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and layout work pieces.
• Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerical controls (CNC) tools to perform precision machining operations, such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate speeds and feeds in order to complete work in a controlled and safe manner.
• Perform quality control on pieces produced to ensure they are within the proper specifications.
• Fit and assemble machine parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance of specifications using precision measuring instruments. (e.g. micrometers, callipers)
• Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer number controlled (CNC) machine tools.
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement in efficiencies in the machine shop through enhanced methods and/or specialized shop equipment/tooling purchases.
• Maintain a clean working environment.

Educational & Experience:

• Red Sealed Machinist Certification.
• Experience in programming and operation of CNC equipment and the ability to operate manual machinery in the Machine Shop.
• Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM and solid modeling software for design, tooling pathing and customer file evaluation and validation.
• Previous design experience required.
• Extensive experience working with varied materials.
• Understanding of G-code and FANUC controls.
• Experience with Mazak and Haas controls.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of 4-axis CNC Milling Machines.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the day.

A positive attitude and strong work ethic are a must. Ability to speak and read English is required, as applicants must be able to read & understand procedural documents, product drawings, production paperwork, etc.
