Join our team as our newest Automation Technician
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Install, maintain, repair and approve automated systems that are used in welding and assembly processes.
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions, diagnostics, calibrating, updating PLC's (ability to modify and build PLC programs- Allen Bradley)
- Program light curtains, area scanners
- Work with other AT's including juniors to complete tasks.
- Collaborate with CFT on new system designs
- HMI configuration/ set up and troubleshoot.
- Utilize the principles of lean manufacturing as a basis for the improvement process.
- Develop and monitor systems to track success and indicate further areas for improvement.
- Prepare technical reports as a result of research, development, and preventative maintenance.
- Support the development and management of a program plan for the implementation of a new cell.
- Provide feedback for Automation/ production issues
What are we looking for?
- Graduate of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology (Robot and Automation Program) and/or Provincial Electricians Ticket (442A or 309A) or applicable substitute
- 3-4 years experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs and Robotics
- Experience in CNC and robotic repair/ programming would be an asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Able to interpret and design electrical schematics
- Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
