Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Contractor for Aluminum & Steel Fabricator/Welder to join a growing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication and welding of aluminum. An ideal candidate will have experience with truck body manufacturing. Drae Trucks is certified per ISO 9001 certification and CWB W47.2. It is expected that the candidate will follow Quality Manual's, procedures and is capable of passing a CWB welding test.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on aluminum
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery including saws and plasma cutters for fabrication tasks.
  • Conduct assembly of components according to specifications, ensuring quality control throughout the process.
  • Operate forklifts safely for material handling and movement within the facility.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise during production.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining safety standards.
  • Execute rigging tasks as required for lifting heavy components or assemblies.

Skills

  • CWB Certified to W47.2
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Proficient in MIG welding, TIG welding, and other welding techniques.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with truck body fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents accurately.
  • Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and various fabrication equipment effectively.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and material requirements.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $70.00-$80.00 per hour
