Social Media Content Creator

You'll be the person behind the camera, in the editor, and inside Canva/CapCut, transforming ideas into high-converting social media campaigns for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

You will also work directly with the business owner on marketing strategy and operations, getting a 360-degree view of how real growth marketing works in practice — from idea to campaign to revenue.

What You'll Do

Content & Campaign Creation

• Plan, create, and edit short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) using CapCut.

• Design static images, carousels, and animations in Canva for social media and paid ads.

• Develop end-to-end social media campaigns (idea, script, shoot, edit, post, and iterate).

• Adapt content for Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok Ads formats and best practices.

Filming & Production

• Film professional-quality footage, both indoor and outdoor (clients, locations, behind-the-scenes, before/after, etc.).

• Handle professional cameras, gimbals, and microphones with confidence.

• Be responsible for footage collection, organizing files, and ensuring we always have strong visual material to work with.

• Drive around the Lower Mainland to capture footage at client locations when needed.

Strategy & Operations (Big Learning Opportunity)

• Work side by side with the business owner on marketing strategy, planning, and execution.

• Participate in discussions about offers, positioning, funnels, and campaign structure.

• See how creative, media buying, CRM, and lead generation connect to real revenue and ROI.

• Help translate strategic ideas into concrete content plans and campaigns.

Creative & Copy

• Write simple, persuasive copy for hooks, captions, and ad texts.

• Brainstorm creative concepts for ads and organic content that stand out in the feed.

• Translate abstract ideas ("we need something that sells this service") into clear, visual concepts ready for social media and paid ads.

Collaboration & Performance

• Work closely with the founder/growth marketing team to align content with campaign goals and KPIs.

• Understand what performs well and be open to testing, learning, and improving.

• Bring new ideas to the table for creative formats, trends, and storytelling.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Content Creator, Video Editor, or Social Media Producer.

• Strong skills in CapCut for video editing.

• Strong skills in Canva for social media designs and simple animations.

• Understanding of content formats for Meta Ads and TikTok Ads (aspect ratios, length, hooks, CTAs, etc.).

• Ability to film professionally (framing, lighting basics, audio awareness).

• Comfortable handling professional cameras, gimbals, and microphones.

• Extremely creative and able to turn ideas into concrete, publishable content fast.

• Comfortable driving around the Lower Mainland to film on location (reliable transportation is important).

• Able to work on-site in Port Coquitlam 3 times per week.

• Basic copywriting ability (hooks, captions, ad copy).

• Organized, responsible, and performance-driven — you care about results, not just "pretty posts".

• Familiarity with ad managers (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager) is a plus.

• Understanding of metrics like CTR, CPC, CPL, etc. is a bonus.
