The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Metallurgy R&D Advisor and the Innovation Group, you will primarily be involved in implementing innovative technologies in the field of ore processing. You will work closely with the Metallurgy Department of Technical Services, which has testing laboratory facilities located in Preissac, near the LaRonde complex. You will be responsible for supervising interns and conducting laboratory tests. The laboratory maturation of innovative technologies and processes will be carried out under your supervision and in coordination with the Metallurgy Department of Technical Services for resource planning and scheduling. Once sufficient levels of maturity are reached, you will participate in the implementation of the technologies and processes in operations and processing plants, as appropriate. You will be required to prioritize and assess technological maturity based on techno-economic studies.

  • Simultaneously manage a portfolio of 3 to 5 projects.

  • Update objectives, interpret results, and write and present deliverables.

  • Implement new laboratory techniques.

  • Participate in plant piloting and transfer knowledge to users.

  • Supervise students involved in innovative projects.

  • Plan their work in collaboration with project managers.

  • Contribute to techno-economic studies to assess project maturity.

  • Participate in drafting funding applications for ore processing.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Master's or PhD in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or Geosciences.

  • Expertise in ore processing, hydrometallurgy, chemistry, geology, or mineralogy.

  • 5 years in laboratory testing, technological development, or chemical analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing research and innovation projects.

  • Proficiency in writing grant applications and funding proposals.

  • Ability to deliver projects on time through effective coordination.

  • Ability to solve complex problems with technological solutions tailored to the mining industry.

  • Ability to work with large and diverse databases.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English).

  • Represent the department at technical conferences and industry working groups.

Your work schedule:

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A 5/2-4/3 schedule is possible.

  • Work location: You can work in one of AEM's offices closer to your home, located in Rouyn-Noranda, Preissac, or Val-d'Or, QC. A hybrid work schedule is also possible, allowing you to work some days from an AEM office and some days remotely.

  • You must also be available to travel to sites in Canada, Finland, Australia, and Mexico.
