Position Overview
We are currently seeking a 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Truck and Transport Mechanic to join our Halifax maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while working toward your Truck and Transport Mechanic certification (Red Seal).
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed mechanics with inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on school buses and fleet vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs under supervision.
- Apply safety procedures and standards in a shop environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Participate in ongoing training and development.
- Help keep the shop clean and organized.
Requirements
- Registered Apprentice Truck and Transport Mechanic (3rd or 4th year preferred).
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver's license (Class 5 required; Class 2 or willingness to obtain is an asset).
