Job description

We currently have a full-time position available for a Trailer Mechanic at our Dartmouth location.

This is an excellent opportunity for a team player with a contagious can-do attitude in the workplace. We're looking for a trailer mechanic responsible for the repair and maintenance of large commercial trailers. This is a physically demanding position that requires the candidate to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities and requirements:

  • Repairing and replacing parts of trailers including mechanical, brakes, bearings, suspensions, electrical systems, and hitch installs
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  • Estimate parts and labour costs
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • Licensed trailer technician is a must
  • MVI licensed
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Schedule:

  • 9-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Possible overtime
