Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Tax Assistant to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will support tax preparation, compliance, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in accounting and tax-related functions within a professional environment. The Tax Assistant will work closely with senior accountants and finance professionals to facilitate smooth operations and maintain high standards of accuracy in all tasks.

Duties

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing tax returns and related documentation
  • Support accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and account reconciliation
  • Utilize accounting software such as , Sage 50, and other bookkeeping tools to manage financial data
  • Conduct analysis of financial statements and transaction records for accuracy and compliance
  • Aid in auditing procedures by gathering relevant data and documentation
  • Manage payroll processing and assist with budgeting activities
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and tax documents
  • Support investment tracking and reporting activities as needed
  • Perform regular account reconciliation to ensure consistency across various financial systems
  • Assist with general bookkeeping tasks to support the accounting department's daily operations

Experience

  • Prior experience with accounting software such as CCHifirm , Sage 50 or similar platforms is preferred
  • Strong analysis skills with attention to detail in financial data review
  • Knowledge of auditing procedures and financial compliance standards
  • Experience working within financial services or related industries is advantageous
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, and account reconciliation processes is desirable
  • Basic understanding of investment management concepts is a plus
  • Previous internship or entry-level experience in accounting or finance will be considered an asset

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
