We are seeking an experienced
Java Developer Lead
to join our Technology team in Toronto. You will play a key role in designing and delivering cutting-edge enterprise solutions using
Java
,
Spring Boot
, and
microservice architecture
. This is a
hybrid role
with 4 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of scalable microservices using Java (8–17) and Spring Boot.
  • Design REST APIs and implement event-driven architecture.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers working in Angular and other JavaScript frameworks.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines for efficient code delivery using GitLab, Gradle, Artifactory, and TeamCity.
  • Implement containerized deployments on private cloud infrastructure (Docker).
  • Maintain code quality following OOP, SOLID principles, and Clean Code practices.
  • Integrate and work with messaging frameworks such as JMS or QuickFIX/J.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications using Splunk.

Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of Java development experience (Java 8–17).
  • Strong skills in Spring Boot, microservices, and event-driven systems.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and Angular (or equivalent frameworks).
  • Experience with SQL Server databases.
  • Expertise in version control (Git) and CI/CD automation.
  • Experience deploying applications in containerized, private cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of messaging frameworks (MQs, JMS, QuickFIX/J).
  • Familiarity with Docker, IntelliJ Ultimate, and GitHub Copilot.
