Integrated Media Planner and Buyer

We're looking for someone who gets excited about making media work harder for clients who need every dollar to count.
At Phoenix Group, you'll work on the best client portfolio in Saskatchewan. Businesses competing against national chains and established players. We fight for our clients' success and believe smart media planning is often the difference between an underdog brand breaking through or getting drowned out.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You'll have opportunities to develop media strategies for local, national and international campaigns. We work in digital and traditional channels, optimize campaigns in real-time, and report on what's actually working.
You'll work independently on your accounts while being part of a collaborative team. Collaboration is a core value here, and we strongly believe in the full-service model where creative, strategy, media, and account teams work together to deliver better results.
What you'll do:
Media Planning
- Develop integrated media plans across digital, social, programmatic, search, and traditional channels
- Conduct audience, market, and competitive research to guide channel selection and strategy
- Build media recommendations aligned with client objectives, KPIs, and budget realities
- Prepare and present media plans and rationale to internal teams and clients
Media Buying
- Execute media buying strategies across multiple channels and platforms
- Handle campaign setup, budget allocation, pacing, and bid optimization
- Manage hands-on DSP work for programmatic campaigns
- Monitor and analyze performance, providing clear reporting and actionable insights
- Collaborate with creative, strategy, and account teams to support cross-channel integration and programmatic opportunities
- Stay current on emerging media trends, tools, and industry best practices
- Provide administrative and operational support as required
What you need:
- 3+ years of relevant media planning and buying experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (you dig into data to find answers)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Working knowledge of digital media buying platforms and technologies
- Hands-on experience with DSP management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you'll present to clients
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively
What helps:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field
- Experience with Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, and other digital platforms
- Experience with traditional media (TV, radio, out-of-home, print)
- Familiarity with programmatic advertising and demand-side platforms
- Experience with website analytics and tracking
