Job Description:

Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and respond to incidents.  You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.  In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Providing exceptional service to enhance the customer experienceEnsuring compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations at the PropertyPerform highly visible patrols of assigned patrol areas/zones (by foot) and positively engage with tenants, guests, visitors, and employees on an ongoing basisMaintain strong knowledge of activities and special events at the Property and assist visitors and guests during their visit to the PropertyNormal physical activity characterized by extended periods of walking and standing, periodic sitting, kneeling, bending, and use of basic motor skills; andRegular keyboarding and record-keeping in written logs requiredMaintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable mannerAble to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situationsRespond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arriveAbility to maintain and enforce access control proceduresSolid understanding of emergency and standard operating proceduresDeal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property ActAssist with Fire & Life Safety inspectionsMaintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using a standard report-writing programInvestigate incidents and occurrencesDraft detailed incident and occurrence reportsMaintain the peace, safety, and security of all patrons, and clients on the property Monitor CCTV surveillance systems De-escalate emergency/crisis situationsAssist emergency and law enforcement personnel Line management, customer serviceAssist with daily operations as needed/required or directed.
Qualifications:Must be willing and able to stand, walk, and patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours) Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalismMust have at least 1 year of prior security experienceExperience in physical / mall security is considered an assetMust have strong verbal and written communication skills Must have a strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment both indoors and outdoors as required. Must be able to handle stress and pressure and make a sound decision under duressMust be comfortable working in a busy highly populated area Must have a clean driver abstractMust demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awarenessMust demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team

  1. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  2. First Aid & CPR – Level C
  3. Proof of Vaccine - CV -19


Certification Requirements (All)

Valid Certification in First Aid, CPR and AED

Minimum of 1 year security experience

Valid Ontario Security License
