Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Safely operate the transit tractors and shuttle trailers to ensure safe transportation of passengers as they load, ride, and unload to various parking lot locations
  • Complete daily inspections of the transit tractors and shuttle trailers prior to operating
  • Provide direction to manage both automotive and pedestrian traffic to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow
  • Greet and provide general information to guests, assisting with questions or concerns as needed
  • Assist with general maintenance, snow removal, and cleanup duties, as well as set-up, takedown, and operations for special events and functions
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
  • Other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications
  • Experience in the operation of farm tractors and wagons
  • Previous experience providing parking direction and parking lot operations is preferred
  • Ability to direct both vehicle (including busses) and pedestrian traffic
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and the ability to work both as a team member and independently
  • Flexibility and the ability to assume a variety of tasks as required
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class "G", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
  • Successful candidates must provide own CSA approved safety footwear prior to first day of employment *Partial reimbursement provided in accordance with the Safety Workwear policy.
  • CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
