Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Build and maintain ski run surfaces through the safe and effective operation of PistenBully & Prinoth Groomers
  • Groom and complete maintenance to the ski slopes through priorities as directed
  • Perform safety/pre-start-up checks on equipment
  • Complete pre and post maintenance inspections on grooming equipment (such as: check fluid levels, identify track or tire issues, record any maintenance to the machine)
  • Collaborate with Lift Maintenance and other Grooming staff to identify operational priorities
  • Report any incidents, areas of concerns or hazards to leadership staff
  • Transport supplies to and from lodges and other locations with boxes and barge trailers
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other minor groomer repair and maintenance work
  • Monitor gauges/equipment at all times
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year Grooming or heavy equipment operator experience
  • Mechanical knowledge and operating knowledge of grooming equipment and systems (i.e. hydraulics, hydrostatics, and implements)
  • General knowledge of resort environment and customer expectations
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts (Typical hours are: 9:30pm – 6am or 1am – 9:30am)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions, on varied terrain.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class "G", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
  • Successful candidates must provide own CSA approved safety footwear prior to first day of employment *Partial reimbursement provided in accordance with the Safety Workwear policy.
  • CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
