Position Description & Scope

The HVAC Engineering Manager is responsible for leading our HVAC engineering team in supporting commercial activities and delivering high-quality proposals, service drawings, and project coordination. This role plays a key part in bridging engineering expertise with business development by supporting Sales, Marketing, and Order Management to define customer requirements, develop tailored HVAC solutions, and ensure successful project execution.

This position reports to the Chief Innovation Officer and involves both people management and active collaboration with commercial teams to help drive business growth across global markets.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming requests for HVAC proposals, drawings, and project coordination activities.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to develop competitive, customer-focused HVAC solutions.
  • Support the preparation of proposals and technical documentation to strengthen customer engagement and sales efforts.
  • Oversee and guide the HVAC engineering team, ensuring deliverables meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and ensure appropriate system design and equipment selection.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align engineering deliverables with business objectives.
  • Support product commercialization initiatives by adapting solutions for different market needs and regions.
  • Lead project planning and resource allocation for the HVAC engineering group.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical inquiries from customers, providing clear and practical support.
  • Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes and customer support.
  • Manage occasional site visits or travel to support proposals and project delivery.

Qualifications

Practical skill, knowledge and prior accomplishments in the following functional areas are desired:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC system design, project coordination, or engineering management.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC principles (psychrometrics, heat load, airflow, and hydronic systems).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit for review and oversight (hands-on expertise an asset but not required).
  • Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to support sales and commercial activities.
