2nd Class Operating Engineer

As a Stationary Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing mission-critical equipment in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position is on a continental rotation and provides opportunities to work with advanced systems while contributing to a highly collaborative, skilled team.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, high-pressure steam systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, pumps, and HVAC equipment
- Conduct scheduled inspections, diagnose issues, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and DCS controls for precise calibration and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve complex system malfunctions
- Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and operational standards
- Document maintenance activities, logs, and operational procedures accurately
- Support the setup, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and systems
Mandatory Requirements:
- Licensed 3rd Class Stationary Engineer actively working toward 2nd Class, or 2nd Class Stationary Engineer
- Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment in fast-paced manufacturing
- Strong technical aptitude with mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance in industrial environments
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with PLC systems, automated manufacturing lines, and process control
- Advanced training or certification in steam, refrigeration, or HVAC systems
- Experience working in automotive or high-volume manufacturing facilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with maintenance management software and data analysis

Compensation & Benefits:
$57–62/hr + shift premiums, pension program, 4 weeks vacation, and bonus opportunities
