Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Installer to execute the installation of office furniture and architectural products. The ideal candidate will ensure that installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to document and communicate issues effectively during the installation process.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Preparation:

  • Attend project kickoff meetings to fully understand the scope of work.
  • Unload, unwrap, and prepare office furniture and other items for installation.
  • Review installation drawings and sign out the required tools and equipment.
  • Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times for safety and compliance.

Job Site Duties:

  • Install and assemble office furniture, including demountable walls, doors, panels, and architectural products.
  • Follow safety protocols and efficiency standards for all installations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installation procedures, including daily hours worked and necessary sign-offs.
  • Track and document any deficiencies, marking install drawings and taking photographs to support findings.
  • Communicate clearly about any deficiencies such as short shipments or on-site damages.

Job Completion:

  • Perform final inspections of completed installations to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Make minor adjustments or repairs as necessary to meet client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all completed jobs, including any deficiencies and their resolutions.

Expectations:

  • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet project objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges during installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to company dress code by wearing Art Metz attire at all times.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary security clearances to access job sites, following all security protocols.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours (8 AM - 4 PM) based on business needs.
  • Timely arrival for shifts and meetings, ensuring project timelines are maintained.
  • Professional and courteous communication with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Careful handling of tools and equipment, reporting issues promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on installation techniques and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in assembling both wooden and metal office furniture, including hardware installation.
  • Strong inspection skills with the ability to meet and maintain quality standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with a wide range of products sold and installed by Art Metz (e.g., Teknion and Global).
  • Ability to lift heavy items lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with team members, managers, and clients.
  • Familiarity with tools and machinery used in furniture assembly and installation.
  • Basic understanding of engineering and construction principles.

Job Type: Full-time
