Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve dealership volume, profit, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales professionals to consistently deliver top performance and exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity to ensure performance objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Drive business growth by developing new customer relationships and maximizing opportunities with existing clients.
  • Oversee the full sales process — from lead generation and follow-up to deal structuring and delivery — ensuring an exceptional guest experience at every stage.
  • Partner with F&I, Service, and Marketing departments to optimize dealership operations and promote cross-departmental success.
  • Utilize CRM systems performance metrics, manage leads, and enhance follow-up processes.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and competitor activity to stay ahead of local market changes and customer expectations.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor sales staff, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-energy team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and dealership policies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Sales Manager or in a senior sales leadership role within a dealership environment.
  • Strong track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals in both new and pre-owned vehicle departments.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.
  • Strong understanding of automotive retail operations, digital retailing, and customer retention strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and dealership management software.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret data, forecast performance, and make informed strategic decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all dealership departments.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
