This role is ideal for someone with 5–10+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, who understands client service, workflow coordination, and basic tax compliance. You may be a CPA or a seasoned client service manager with strong tax familiarity.
About the Role
We are hiring a Manager, Tax & Client Service Manager to act as a central hub across the firm - managing client communication, overseeing workflow, coordinating internal tasks, and assisting with routine tax-related activities. This is a hands-on role where judgment, organization, and professionalism matter more than formal designations.

- Review CRA notices and correspondence and outline next steps for the team.
- Assist with basic or moderately complex tax compliance tasks (e.g., organizing info for T1/T2 filings, HST checks, simple schedules).
- Assist with trust and estate returns.
- Recognize when items require escalation to a senior reviewer.
- Support the tax workflow during T1 season, corporate deadlines, and year-end cycles.
Workflow Coordination & Internal Operations
- Oversee client workflow, monitor deadlines, and anticipate bottlenecks.
- Allocate work to staff based on complexity and capacity.
- Manage shared inboxes and ensure tasks are routed appropriately.
- Prepare, edit, and finalize letters, summaries, and client deliverables.
- Maintain high standards for digital filing and document control.
Administrative Leadership & Quality Control
- Prepare and proofread correspondence, summaries, and documentation packages.
- Help refine internal processes, templates, and systems.
- Provide guidance to junior team members on workflow and documentation standards.
- Uphold confidentiality and firm policies at all times.
Qualifications Required
- 5–10+ years of experience in a CPA, accounting, or tax firm.
- Strong client service orientation with excellent communication skills.
- Experience coordinating workflow or reviewing work in a public accounting environment.
- Familiarity with CRA portals and tax-related documentation.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Assets (Not Required)
- CPA designation.
- Assurance experience.
- Experience with trust and estate returns
- Experience using tax software platforms.
