Safety-Kleen in Breslau, Ontario, is seeking a Lab Technicianto join their safety conscious team You will be responsible for the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties in a production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs analysis of samples following prescribed procedures.
  • Utilizes instrumentation and bench techniques
  • Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion
  • Ensure that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines.
  • Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health & Safety and Compliance protocols.
  • Works under the direct supervision of Lab Chemists.
  • Responsible for maintaining valid training files for all applicable laboratory SOPs
  • Responsibility for housekeeping and maintenance of Good Lab Practices
  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable Company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma – Science Related
  • Required to be able to wear a respirator in case of emergency
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Initiative
  • Solid understanding of math, chemistry and chemical testing.
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications
