We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to work with school children on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Capable of working alongside children with varying behavioral needs and challenges.

Our goal is to provide a work environment that is collaborative, energetic, and welcoming to all our therapists, children and their families. Our vision is simple. Therapy should be accessible, convenient, client centred, and provided by practitioners that have a passion for helping others.

Job Description:

Inclusive Milestones is looking for an energetic and creative TEACHER, to impart knowledge, skills, and guidance to students in an educational setting

Monday - Friday

Hours 8:30-4:30

We do provide before/aftercare services so start and end time changes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lesson planning: Developing age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate basic concepts such as numbers, letters, colors, and shapes, as well as social skills and motor skills.
  • Classroom Management
  • Assessing development
  • Communication with Parents
  • Encouraging Social skills
  • Maintaining safe environment
  • To work with children from different backgrounds and specialized populations.
  • To collaborate and consult with other company professionals.
  • To create and develop classroom materials as needed.
  • To model language facilitation strategies and the use of visual communication devices/systems to students who need it throughout their day.
  • To perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of related experience working with children with various exceptionalities, including children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a must.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Responsible, organized, enthusiastic, team worker and flexible personality.
