Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment, values teamwork, and is dedicated to maintaining high standards of food safety and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure product safety and quality at all stages of the manufacturing process.
Maintain and calibrate quality control equipment.
Identify and implement improvements in quality processes.
Communicate and address quality or compliance concerns promptly.
Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing.
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and quality records.
Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and Worker Safety standards.
Train employees on Food Safety, GMP, and SQF protocols.
Collect samples for product development and lab retention.
Conduct inspections of raw materials, packaging, finished products, and production stages.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in a HACCP/GFSI-related role within the food industry (experience in meat or a unionized environment preferred).
Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field.
Strong working knowledge of CFIA regulations, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety principles.
Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and related workplace safety standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
