Chief of Getting Sht Done

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Obvious Ventures Full time

Obvious is a Fractional CMO + Strategic Growth Consulting studio
that helps founders and teams get unstuck fast. We diagnose growth problems, rebuild the brand + marketing engine, and relaunch momentum in 4 weeks. (New brands in 6 weeks)

We're growing fast. We work all over the world and our clients are awesome.

Which means the founder needs someone who can turn his ideas into action, keep projects organized, manage contractors, run systems, and make sure everything gets done
without him chasing anything.

This is not an assistant role.

This is not a junior role.

This is the person who becomes the operational backbone
 of Obvious.

If you're organized, assertive, fast, resourceful, and love making chaos make sense — this is the role of your life.

The Role

Chief of Getting Sh*t Done

(Official title can change but we think this is awesome)

You are the person who turns vision into execution.

You will be the connective tissue between strategy, clients, creatives, deliverables, and deadlines.

You'll run operations, manage workflows, coordinate with contractors, structure projects, and help the founder stay focused on the highest-value tasks.

Your job is simple:

Make sure everything that needs to get done… gets done.

What You'll Own

1. Project & Creative Operations

  • Turn voice notes and ideas into actionable tasks
  • Build timelines and deliverable schedules
  • Manage Notion boards, sprints, and weekly priorities
  • Coordinate designers, editors, writers, and developers
  • Ensure every project moves forward daily

2. Founder Management

  • Manage founders calendar, commitments, and priorities
  • Push back when he's distracted (this happens)
  • Keep him focused on high-impact work - high value vs low value tasks
  • Capture ideas, organize them, and redirect when needed

3. Client Coordination

  • Send recaps, follow-ups, updates
  • Prepare agendas & run internal kickoff calls
  • Maintain clean communication with clients
  • Ensure all expectations and deliverables are aligned

4. Systems & Processes

  • Build SOPs, checklists, templates, and workflows
  • Standardize intake, delivery, and creative processes
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Keep files, assets, and systems organized

5. Execution Support

You'll help with things like:

  • Uploading content
  • Organizing assets
  • Prepping deliverables
  • Basic QA (copy, formatting, links, structure)
  • Coordinating approvals

This is NOT a task-monkey role — it's
a strategic operator who loves making things happen.

Who You Are

Hyper-organized

Assertive and confident

Fast and resourceful

A natural problem-solver

Great at managing personalities

Comfortable managing a founder

Calm in chaos

Detail-obsessed

Great communicator

Tech fluent (Notion, Slack, Google Drive, basic PM tools)

You thrive in a role where you
own the middle of the organization
— the engine, the glue, the hub.

You love designers, creatives, and developers — but you're the one who keeps them accountable.

You don't mind chasing deliverables.

You don't take things personally.

You handle pressure well.

You actually
like
being the person who has everything handled.

Who You've Been

You likely come from:

  • Creative agency operations
  • Production coordination (photo/video/film)
  • Project management in a studio or marketing environment
  • Executive assistant to a founder
  • Startup ops manager
  • Marketing operations
  • Creative traffic manager

You've juggled multiple projects.

You've kept high-performing founders (or creatives) on track.

And you've done all of it without losing your mind.
