Portfolio Implementation Consultant

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office) or Waterloo, ON

Contract: 6 months

Our client is a leading organization in the Canadian wealth management sector with a national network of over 2,000 advisors. They are launching a new suite of guided portfolios and are looking for a Portfolio Implementation Consultant to support this strategic initiative.

This position plays a key role in bridging investment strategy and field execution, working closely with product teams, wealth consultants, and advisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the national rollout of guided portfolios and related investment solutions.
  • Partner with wealth consultants to deliver portfolio insights, training, and presentations.
  • Oversee transition, trade execution, and rebalancing workflows.
  • Translate technical investment concepts (e.g., asset allocation, sector mix) into clear, advisor-friendly language.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes and tools.
  • Act as the conduit between portfolio strategy and advisor-facing teams to drive adoption.

Must Haves:

  • Experience in wealth management, specifically with portfolios, ETFs, or mutual funds.
  • Solid understanding of portfolio construction (asset allocation, sector mix, product selection).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage advisor and consultant teams.
  • Prior experience in dealer or asset management environments (bank-owned, independent, or fund companies).

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in wholesaling or field enablement — training, workshops, or advisor support.
  • Exposure to portfolio transitions and implementation workflows.
  • Relevant investment certifications such as CSC, CFA, or CFP.
