Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmologists by accurately documenting patient encounters and assisting with various administrative tasks. This position is essential for maintaining efficient patient flow and ensuring high-quality patient care within our medical office.
Duties
- Accurately document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans during patient visits.
- Assist ophthalmologists in preparing for examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are ready.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) by entering and updating patient information using EMR systems.
- Collaborate with front desk staff to facilitate smooth patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing inquiries and ensuring a comfortable environment for patients.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Previous medical office experience is preferred, particularly in an ophthalmology or pediatrics setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; Accuro is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to providing outstanding patient care and ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
