About the Role:
The Telematics organization powers the data backbone behind Motive's products and is scaling to handle billions of events per day as we expand globally. As the Lead TPM for Telematics, you will drive cross‑functional execution across on‑device software, cloud services and data pipelines, and vehicle coverage programs. You'll establish the operating rhythms, program frameworks, and KPIs that scale our execution across regions and product surfaces while partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Data, Security, Support, and field teams.
What You'll Do:
- Own strategic, cross‑org programs end‑to‑end from problem framing and roadmap orchestration to delivery, landing, and post‑launch measurement.
- Set up the operating system for execution (cadences, risk/issue management, dependency mapping, change control, and launch readiness reviews) with crisp, decision‑ready comms for executive stakeholders.
- Define program KPIs and OKRs across reliability, scalability, quality, cost, and customer outcomes; build executive‑level dashboards and mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Orchestrate complex technical workstreams spanning embedded systems, Android/AOSP services, OTA, connectivity, vehicle signal mapping, data pipelines, and backend APIs.
- Enable global launches by aligning cross‑regional teams, readiness plans, cutover playbooks, and incident response guardrails; proactively manage regulatory and market nuances.
- Raise the bar on engineering and operational excellence through release discipline, staged rollouts/rollback criteria, non‑functional requirements, and "shift‑left" validation.
- Scale the TPM function by mentoring TPMs/EMs/PMs on program practices, increasing throughput, and codifying best practices for repeatable delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience in program management (or equivalent hybrid PM/EM/TPM leadership), with significant time leading complex, cross‑functional programs at the platform/infrastructure layer.
- Strong technical depth across one or more of: embedded/edge (Linux/RTOS/Android), connectivity (cellular/MQTT/REST), OTA, and cloud/data (streaming, hot/cold storage, observability).
- Proven delivery track record for reliability/scalability programs and multi‑release roadmaps across hardware + software ecosystems.
- Mastery of execution frameworks: portfolio planning, dependency/risk management, change control, phased rollouts, metrics reviews, postmortems, and corrective action loops.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication; makes ambiguity legible, drives crisp decisions, and creates durable alignment.
- Experience operating in globally distributed teams.
