Position Overview

We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Opener/Closer Rover to help start and end each day smoothly at Pet Planet. This role combines dog knowledge, facility care, professional communication, and hands-on interaction with dogs. The ideal candidate is punctual, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently during opening or closing shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and/or close the facility following Pet Planet safety and cleanliness standards
  • Prepare playrooms for the day (cleaning, sanitizing, setting up equipment)
  • Ensure all dogs are safely checked in/out and accounted for
  • Supervise dogs in playrooms and monitor group play behavior
  • Maintain a clean, odor-free, and organized facility
  • Provide excellent customer service to pet parents at drop-off and pick-up
  • Complete daily checklists, logs, and closing/opening procedures
  • Follow all Pet Planet policies related to dog safety, health, and behavior

Qualifications

  • Love of dogs and comfort working with multiple dogs of all sizes
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Friendly, professional communication skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Previous animal care, kennel, daycare, or customer service experience is an asset (training provided)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.85 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
