The successful candidate will partner closely with project teams, lenders, and internal stakeholders to deliver timely, relevant, and audit-ready financial information that strengthens operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle accounting on a project-by-project basis, including AP/AR, journal entries, month-end processes, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor, review, and reconcile project budgets, construction draws, and loan documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with lender requirements.
  • Prepare detailed monthly bank and loan reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Produce financial statements for multiple project entities while ensuring adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Prepare and analyze working papers, supporting schedules, and documentation required for audits, reviews, and internal reporting.
  • Provide timely, relevant financial information to support data-driven project and organizational decision making.
  • Track project financing requirements, including cash flow forecasting, capital calls, partner contributions, and distribution schedules.
  • Maintain oversight of cash flow positions and anticipate funding needs across active and upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, development teams, and operations to fully understand project timelines, milestones, risks, and cost impacts.
  • Identify potential financial risk areas early and escalate issues that may affect project budgets, timelines, or cash flow.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, streamlining accounting processes and enhancing reporting tools or models.

Qualifications

  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) 
    or
     5+ years of progressive experience in project accounting, financial reporting, or real estate development accounting.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, lookups, modeling, and data analysis; strong working knowledge of 
    Yardi
     (or similar ERPs).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounting for multiple concurrent projects with varying timelines and complexity.
  • Experience in the real estate, construction, or development industries (highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of cash flow management, debt schedules, capital structures, and project financing mechanics.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate, deadline-driven financial reports and reconcile complex accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance, operations, and project teams.
