Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract. The role has strong potential of converting to permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements (ASPE) and internal reporting on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles
  • Manage full cycle accounting for several locations, including general accounting, AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes to refine projections and track results
  • Oversee cash flow planning, monitor working capital needs, and recommend improvements to strengthen liquidity
  • Assist in system implementation to improve financial processes
  • Lead, coach, and assist direct reports on accounting tasks, while driving process improvements and ERP efficiencies

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years in accounting positions (ASPE), ideally firm experience – financial reporting, month end, full cycle, internal controls
  • CPA (or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area
  • System savvy, strong in excel
  • Industry experience with high volume of inventory is an asset
  • FP&A skillset - trend analysis, budgeting is an asset
  • Team management experience is an asset
