We are looking for a motivated, organized, and people-focused HR & Talent Acquisition Specialist to help strengthen our team, culture, and brand. This role goes far beyond paperwork, you will help shape how we recruit top talent, support our people, and represent Escape Fire at industry events, trade shows, and online. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruiting cycle for field and office roles, including postings, sourcing, outreach, resume screening, and interviews.
- Build and maintain a strong recruitment pipeline through Indeed, social media, trade schools, and industry connections.
- Coordinate reference checks, offers, and onboarding to ensure new hires feel welcomed, prepared, and connected to company culture.
- Maintain accurate employee files, certifications, tickets, benefits information, and HR documentation.
- Track training and ticket expiry dates; coordinate renewals and learning opportunities.
- Assist with performance documentation, attendance issues, and general employee relations support.
- Contribute to internal communications, including newsletters, updates, and social media content that highlights Escape's culture and attracts top talent.
- Help plan and support company events, training days, meetings, and employee recognition initiatives.
- Support the JHSC with scheduling, agendas, minutes, and safety documentation.
- Represent Escape Fire at trade shows, career fairs, and industry outreach events.
- Collaborate with the Office Manager on HR projects, SOP improvements, and initiatives that strengthen HR systems and organization.

You'll gain experience across recruitment, onboarding, training, safety documentation, internal communication, and employee relations, all while contributing directly to the long-term success of a growing industry leader.

Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of HR or recruitment experience (construction or trades experience is an asset).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable speaking with both tradespeople and office staff.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Driven, proactive, and confident managing multiple priorities at once.
- Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Able to manage confidential information professionally.
- Experience with social media, job postings, or employer branding is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
