You will support and guide the front-of-house service team, foster a professional and customer-focused environment, and lead by example on the restaurant floor. What You'll Do:

  • Support the team: Assist with daily shift briefings, offer hands-on support on the floor, help guide support roles such as hosts and bussers, and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment in alignment with company health and safety standards.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences: Maintain a strong floor presence during service, ensure service standards reflect Quails' Gate values, manage reservations (OpenTable) to maximize revenue and flow, build genuine connections with guests, resolve concerns promptly, and act as an ambassador of Old Vines Restaurant and Quails' Gate Estate Winery.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations: Perform opening and closing procedures, coordinate service with the kitchen team, support private bookings, and ensure all operational checklists and procedures are completed to standard.
  • Support financial and administrative objectives: Review and approve time entries, help manage labor costs, ensure accurate daily cashouts, and assist with smallwares inventory.

What You Bring:

  • 1–2 years of experience in fine dining, with a solid understanding of restaurant operations and catering events.
  • Strong skills in teamwork, communication, listening, supervision, and organization, with a willingness to learn and grow in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience with project management, beverage inventory systems, and cost controls is an asset.
    Relevant certifications: Serving It Right and WSET Level 2. First Aid Certification is an asset.
