Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, as well as maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cash handling, and customer service within a dynamic coffee shop setting.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages using POS systems such as Micros POS
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely service
  • Handle cash transactions and operate cashiering systems with basic math skills
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, equipment, and dining area in accordance with food safety standards
  • Assist with food preparation and food handling tasks as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers professionally and courteously
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
  • Restock supplies and ensure product quality at all times
  • Follow food safety protocols to ensure safe handling of all food items

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or as a barista is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is advantageous
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
  • Excellent time management skills to handle peak hours effectively
  • Serving experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for the food industry is essential
