Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Traffic Coating/Pedestrian Deck Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves applying specialized coatings to pedestrian decks and traffic surfaces, ensuring durability, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, familiarity with manufacturing processes, and experience working with various tools and equipment. Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed for coating application
  • Mix and apply traffic coatings and pedestrian deck coatings using hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment
  • Perform surface repairs or modifications.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure coatings are applied evenly and meet specified standards
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly
  • Follow safety protocols related to working with chemicals, heavy machinery, and at heights
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of work zones, adhering to project timelines and safety guidelines

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge with experience in assembly processes
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and coating application equipment
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thickness and surface preparation
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
