Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full Time Optometric Assistant to join our busy eye care practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, assisting with patient exams and optical services while gaining valuable experience in optometry and medical office procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them throughout their visit, ensuring a positive experience
  • Assist optometrists during eye exams by performing preliminary tests and measurements
  • Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and processing patient check-ins and check-outs
  • Educate patients on optical products, frame selections, and lens options to support retail sales efforts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and optical displays
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing patient correspondence
  • Support pediatric patients with specialized care and communication as needed

Skills

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred,
  • Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to manage front desk responsibilities efficiently while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of optical products, retail sales techniques, and sales experience is a plus
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous
  • Effective communication skills to interact with diverse patient populations and team members
