TITLE: FAMILY COURT SUPPORT WORKER

HOURS OF WORK: 2 Part-time Positions/ Part-time (17.5hrs/wk) permanent AND a Part-time(17.5hrs/wk) 6-month contract - May apply to both to make a full-time position for 6 months and then will become part-time in June 2026

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsibilities include the provision of individual and group case management and counselling. Working from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, feminist and empowerment perspective, the Family Court Support Worker conducts assessments, provides support navigating the Family Court System, develops safety plans, and provides a range of clinical interventions. The Family Court Support Worker makes referrals to community agencies/resources as required and provides outreach services as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· B.A./SSW or equivalent post-secondary education

· Bilingual (French-English) is preferred.

· Successful Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check is required.

· Membership in a related professional association is preferred

Experience

· One to three years of clinical experience would be an asset.

· Familiarity with the Family Court System and the Child and Family Services Act.

· Familiarity with the theoretical and conceptual foundations, which inform work done in the field of domestic violence (VAW), and with their application to individual and group counselling.

· Familiarity with a variety of clinical interventions; including the integration of a feminist perspective in counselling, Client-Centred and Brief Solution Focused Counselling Models.

· Knowledge of and experience with community stakeholders in KFLA involved working with domestic violence.
