Dental Lab Assistant – Hands-On Craft Work (Model / Emax)

We are a boutique dental laboratory located at Yonge & Sheppard (direct access to Sheppard–Yonge TTC Station) looking for a reliable assistant to support our model room and Emax workflow.

This position involves hands-on, routine craft work.

It is best suited for someone who enjoys working carefully with their hands, following clear procedures, and producing consistent results.

This is not a creative or experimental role.

We value accuracy, repeatability, and steady output over personal style.

Location

  • Yonge & Sheppard
  • Direct access to Sheppard–Yonge TTC Station

Working Hours

  • Approximately 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • 4–5 days per week
  • Daily workload may vary depending on case volume

Hourly Wage

  • $22 per hour (based on skills and experience)

Wage adjustments may be considered once procedures are clearly understood and work quality is consistently stable.

Main Responsibilities

  • Stone model pouring, trimming, and mounting
  • Emax investing and divesting
  • Single die cutting
  • Basic 3D printer operation
  • Case unpacking, packing, and shipping (Local / FedEx)
  • Weekly verification jig checks

All tasks follow clear procedures and checklists.

Training will be provided.

This role is a good fit if you:

  • Enjoy hands-on craft or detail-oriented work (e.g. baking, sewing, model making)
  • Are comfortable performing routine tasks the same way each day
  • Can follow step-by-step instructions without improvising
  • Accept feedback as part of process improvement
  • Prefer a calm, respectful, small-team environment

This role may not be a good fit if you:

  • Prefer full creative freedom in how tasks are done
  • Dislike repetitive or structured work
  • Become frustrated when procedures are updated or standardized

(We include this to avoid mismatches.)

Language

  • Japanese is commonly used in daily communication within the lab.

Applicants should be comfortable working in a bilingual (Japanese / English) environment.
