Position Overview

As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the first line of support for our organization's technology needs, assisting with day-to-day troubleshooting, device and user onboarding, and basic system administration. You'll work closely with our experienced IT team, gaining hands-on exposure to technologies such as Microsoft 365, Hyper-V, SQL Server, Teams, SharePoint, and basic web design. This role is ideal for someone with a degree in Computer Science (or a related field), who has had some experience after graduation, perhaps working with an MSP or solution provider. Key Responsibilities

IT Support & Troubleshooting:

• Respond to and resolve support tickets, providing friendly, timely assistance to end users.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Escalate complex issues to senior team members when necessary.

Onboarding & Device Setup:

• Prepare and configure new devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) for incoming staff.
• Create and manage new user accounts, email addresses, and permissions in Microsoft 365.
• Install and configure required software applications.

Systems & Application Support:

• Assist in managing virtual machines using Hyper-V.
• Provide basic SQL Server support, including simple queries and routine maintenance tasks.
• Help administer Microsoft Teams and SharePoint environments.

Web & Digital Tasks:

• Support internal website content updates and basic design adjustments.
• Assist with small-scale web projects under guidance from senior staff.

Learning & Development:

• Participate in ongoing IT training and cross-training on different systems.
• Gradually take on more complex IT tasks as skills develop.

Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise

Required:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Some mechanical abilities - competence with a screwdriver and a socket set.
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and general networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
