Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Morning Cafe Baker to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for baking cookies and breakfast pastries prior to opening, ensuring high-quality food presentation, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

You will be cross-trained on other opening duties, and expected to learn how to use our point of sale.

We are looking for efficient individuals with excellent time management. This is an entry-level baking position, most items are being baked from frozen, however because of the variety of items and level of quality control, there are many moving parts that need to be front of mind at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Bake and present a variety of baked goods following established bake SOPs
  • Package baked items attractively for display or takeout, ensuring freshness and presentation quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Support food production processes by managing inventory levels of ingredients and supplies
  • Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about baked goods and offering recommendations when needed

Experience

  • Proven pastry or baking experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting, preferably within the food industry or restaurant environment
  • Demonstrates proficiency in food preparation, baking techniques, and kitchen equipment operation
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with various baking tools and machinery
  • Experience in packaging baked goods for retail, catering or event purposes is a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Previous experience in customer service roles within the food industry is desirable

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
