Position: Safety Supervisor- Logistics/Oilfield Rig Moving

Type: Fulltime

Location: Bonnyville, AB

Pay: Commensurate with education and experience

Position Overview:

The Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe execution of all aspects of our operations. This position is responsible for promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures in the field, conducting inspections, facilitating training, and serving as a resource for field personnel to mitigate risks and uphold compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards. This role is a blend of office and field environments with "on call" rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company protocols
  • Conduct job site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings, orientations, and incident stand-downs
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide on-site coaching and mentorship to team members on safe work practices
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment and vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and safety documentation
  • Work closely with field supervisors, dispatch, and management to continuously improve safety outcomes
  • Stay up-to-date with transportation and OH&S regulations and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of transportation / oilfield safety experience, preferably in rig moving or heavy haul
  • Minimum - valid Class 5 Driver's License (current or previous Class 1 or 3 a strong asset)
  • Certification in transportation compliance / Occupational Health and Safety is an asset
  • Valid safety tickets including H2S Alive, First Aid/CPR, CSTS/PSTS, etc. is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of federal/provincial OH&S legislation and National Safety Code
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with flexible hours and travel
