We are seeking a motivated and skilled litigation lawyer to join our growing team.

Position Overview

This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse cases, provide expert legal advice, and support clients through complex legal processes. The ideal candidate is a confident advocate with a strong commitment to ethical standards and excellent communication skills. The Lawyer will be responsible for conducting thorough legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients from intake through resolution or trial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to clients across multiple practice areas such as Criminal Defence, Family Law, Civil Litigation, Immigration, and Wills & Estates.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to stay current on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and other correspondence, with precision and clarity.
  • Represent clients in negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes while maintaining professional integrity.
  • Provide and maintain clear and professional communication with clients.
  • Prepare for and participate in litigation proceedings as needed.
  • Maintain organized case files within the firm's management system.
  • Stay informed about updates in laws affecting various practice areas through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases requiring specialized knowledge or research expertise.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Valid license and good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • 1+ years of litigation experience preferred (experience in Criminal Defence, Family Law, or Civil Law is strongly desired)
  • Proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
  • Strong courtroom presence, confidence and advocacy skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful client advocacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-relation skills.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills combined with attention to detail and organizational abilities. Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Court experience in Criminal Defence, Family Law, and/or Civil Litigation
  • Familiarity with local court rules and procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
