About the Role

The Laughing Buddha is looking for a reliable, hands-on Repairs & Maintenance Assistant to help keep our restaurants in great working order. This role is perfect for someone with basic handy experience who wants to learn more skills on the job. You'll support day-to-day maintenance tasks around the building, handle small repairs, deep cleaning, and assist with larger projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform light repairs such as fixing doors, patching drywall, tightening loose fittings, and minor paint touch-ups
  • Assist with basic plumbing fixes (e.g., toilets, sinks, drains)
  • Support larger maintenance projects alongside contractors or management
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in safe working order
  • Respond to simple facility issues as they arise during service
  • Help with occasional heavy lifting, moving items, and setup/teardown tasks
  • Follow health & safety procedures and communicate any major issues to management

Requirements

  • Some hands-on or handy experience (professional or personal)
  • Comfortable using basic tools
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new skills
  • Positive attitude and respect for a busy restaurant environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
