Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, you will partner with Operations and Strategy and Growth to drive financial performance and improve strategic decision making with data-led approaches. In this role, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the Region's operating environment, key aims and projects and lead key analysis to drive growth and measure performance.
You will be at the forefront of business development, both in terms of assessing new opportunities and markets as well as helping to analyze and improve performance with some of our most important client accounts. Your work will be critical to the ongoing success of our business and key decisions on future direction.
A proactive self-starter, with a keen interest in the application of data, AI and new technologies you will problem solve across multiple departments, coordinating and communicating effectively at senior management levels, as well as help to embed new and innovative approaches for strategic analysis and action.
This position can be based in, but not limited to: Mississauga, ON.
Job Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Establish a structured approach for capturing and analysing market and competitor information to support better decision making, including the selection and use of appropriate business intelligence tools.
- Conducting market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and potential market entry opportunities
- Support the development of go-to market strategies
- Optimize revenue forecasting processes to ensure integrity of data and suitability for use in decision making.
- Perform critical analysis on revenue forecasts and backlog/pipeline data to identify trends, risks and opportunities that could positively or negatively impact growth and business performance.
- Engage with AI experts to assist with the development of analytical tools to support strategic decision making.
- Support key client account teams and the Key Accounts Portfolio Lead with client specific analysis and recommendations, analysing client data to identify growth trends, potential upselling/cross-selling opportunities, and areas for service improvement.
- Developing client segmentation models to tailor marketing and sales efforts and align with Aecom's emerging "Account Based Marketing" programmes.
- Provide input to process change initiatives aimed at streamlining business development, sales and positioning activities.
- Creating insightful reports and dashboards, including development of appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide actionable recommendations.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 8 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a corporate finance environment or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Previous experience working as a financial or business analysis in a project environment within engineering, construction or related industries preferable.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to deliver within role.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
- Ability to adapt to and drive change.
- Outcome driven with a proactive approach to working
- Comfortable working with incomplete information and solutioning
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, strong financial modelling and business analysis skills and the ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex financial data and concepts.
- Advanced level of proficiency in use of business intelligence tools to analyze, summarize and present financial and market data.
