Our client, a well-established and successful custom manufacturer based in the
Markham area
, is seeking an experienced
Controller
to join their team on a
4–6 month contract
.

This is a
fully on-site role (5 days per week)
, ideal for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys working closely with their team and business partners.

The Role

As the Controller, you will lead both hands-on accounting and financial reporting while providing strategic financial guidance. You will oversee a small clerical accounting team and actively participate in execution, review, and advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on management of day-to-day accounting and financial reporting
  • Review and analysis of actuals, month-end close, and operational reporting
  • Provide strategic input into forecasting, planning, and financial analysis
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a small accounting team
  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and financial controls

Qualifications

  • CPA designation with
    10+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong systems experience (Epicor/SAP/Oracle)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities
