Coquitlam BC VJ X, Canada Coastal Design Landscaping Full time

Company Overview

Coastal Design Landscaping is dedicated to crafting stunning outdoor environments that inspire relaxation and connection with nature. We prioritize superior craftsmanship and trustworthy service to ensure our clients' complete satisfaction while promoting a greener, more beautiful world.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Hardscape Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and deliver exceptional outdoor living and landscape construction projects. You'll oversee 2–3 hardscape crews, ensuring that every job is completed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked up from the field — someone who understands how jobs flow from design to installation and enjoys balancing site management, scheduling, client communication, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Management

Plan, organize, and oversee day-to-day construction operations for multiple hardscape crews (stonework, retaining walls, patios, grading, drainage, etc.)

Schedule crews, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient project flow

Review project plans and estimates; provide input on constructability and logistics

Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients as required

Track project budgets, hours, and progress; report regularly to the owner/operations manager

Team Leadership

Supervise and support 2–3 foremen and their crews (typically 6–9 field staff total)

Provide direction, problem-solving, and mentorship in the field

Lead weekly production meetings and ensure clear communication between office and field

Promote safety, professionalism, and a positive team culture

Quality & Client Relations

Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications

Serve as the point of contact for clients during construction phases

Resolve issues proactively and maintain strong, professional relationships

Ensure all projects meet or exceed company quality standards

Health, Safety & Compliance

Enforce company and WorkSafeBC safety standards on all job sites

Maintain documentation for incident reporting, toolbox talks, and inspections

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of experience in landscape construction or hardscaping, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role

Strong understanding of outdoor construction methods (pavers, retaining walls, grading, drainage, etc.)

Proven ability to manage multiple crews and overlapping project schedules

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License (clean abstract)

Computer proficiency for project tracking and communication (Google Workspace or similar)

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $90,000 – $110,000/year (based on experience)

Vehicle allowance or company truck + fuel card

Cell phone allowance

Paid vacation

Performance-based bonus opportunities

Growth potential as the company expands
