Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
Estimator
with expertise in
hazardous materials, asbestos, mould, lead abatement, and interior demolition
. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the tendering process, project specifications, and cost estimation for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.

Project Size Experience:
Up to $5,000,000

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Manage and handle the tendering process efficiently.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Liaise and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and sub-contractors on project adjustments.
  • Prepare estimates for labour, material, and project budgets.
  • Create pre-qualification submissions for potential clients.
  • Operate software tools such as Windows 11, MS Office 365, and Adobe.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma plus a three-year college degree in civil or construction engineering,
    or
    equivalent trade estimating experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and mould.
  • Proven track record as a
    construction estimator
    .
  • Certifications: WHMIS, Working at Heights.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills.
  • Willingness to travel for site tours.

Technical Skills:

  • Estimating and take-off software packages.
  • MS Excel, Word, and Adobe applications.
