IUPAT District Council 17 is seeking a Full-Time Organizing Representative based in the Saskatoon or Regina region to lead unionization efforts within the construction and finishing trades. This critical role will focus on empowering non-union workers, promoting safe and fair work environments, and expanding Union representation in Saskatchewan's construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with non-union workers and educate them on the benefits of Union membership.
  • Plan and execute strategic organizing campaigns focused on IUPAT trades.
  • Conduct research on contractors and projects to identify organizing opportunities.
  • Attend industry events and job sites to recruit members and increase awareness of IUPAT.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of organizing efforts using tools like Google Sheets.
  • Travel regularly to worksites across the Saskatoon and Regina regions.
  • Work collaboratively with the IUPAT team to develop and adjust strategies based on industry needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Construction or Union experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Saskatchewan labour laws and the construction industry.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Comfortable using technology and software tools to manage outreach activities.
